The Siberian Husky, originated in Siberia, is a very intelligent and active dog breed. These dogs have dense double coat and a beautiful appearance. They can have blue or multi-coloured eyes. This athletic dog possesses a wolf-like appearance. Initially they were bred as sled dogs and still continue to be used as the same in some parts of the world.

Siberian Husky is considered to be one the oldest dog breed. They have their history connected with Chukchi, a Siberian tribe which used these dogs for transportation purpose, as sled dogs. These dogs were of great help and importance to the Chukchi tribe and became very close companions.

These dogs were very active, energetic and resilient. They were bred to live in extremely cold and harsh climatic conditions in the Siberian Arctic. 

In the early 19th century, these dogs were used in the All-Alaskan Sweepstakes, a 408 mile dog sled race. The dogs of this breed aided Admiral Robert Peary of the United States Navy during his expedition in search of North Pole.

The SiberianHusky is a very intelligent dog breed, meant to survive in extreme cold conditions. This is a very good natured breed and does very well with children. The Husky is mostly a non-aggressive breed and also behaves in a friendly manner with strangers. It barks rarely and prefers to howl. The breed consistently requires human companionship or of other dogs to fulfill their need to be the part of a pack.
The Husky is an independent breed which can make it stubborn as well. Training a Husky can be difficult for a first time owner, as it understands the difference between a training class and home. Husky behaving well in the training session, might not behave the same at home. These are high energy breeds and should be provided sufficient exercise to avoid boredom, which can lead to destructive behavior.
A Siberian Husky can be a very good escape masters. It is very important to have a properly fence yard. They are very good at digging holes in the ground, which makes it very important to have the fence buried several inches inside the ground. The Husky is a very curious breed and loves to explore new things.

The top coat is short and straight while the undercoat is much denser. The thick hair coat helps the dog in surviving in extremely colder regions and also reflects heat in the summer.
The Siberian Husky has a fox like appearance with a furry tail. The eyes can be brown, blue or a combination of both. These are very intelligent dogs with power and athleticism.
